This new understanding of architecture lead to more developments in the future. As the years went on, the Gothic style became more and more elaborate. Around the fourteenth century, the Early Gothic style lead to the Decorated Gothic. The stonework became more extravagant with many different carvings and sculptures.
Fan vaulting came in the fifteenth century as a more improved and decorated version of ribbed vaulting.
Later on, most every thing in Gothic Cathedrals became decorated and extremely elaborate.
Gothic achitecture also lead to stone being used in more homes.
